Biography
Professor Ofer Merimsky is a leading oncologist in Israel, head of the Oncology Department at Ichilov Clinic and deputy chief physician of the Oncology Department at Suraski Medical Center. He specializes in the treatment of sarcomas and other malignancies.
For 25 years, Dr. Merimsky has been developing comprehensive protocols for treating cancer with drugs and radiation therapy. He has held the title of professor of medicine in oncology since 1995. He defended his doctoral thesis on the treatment of breast cancer. He has authored more than 200 scientific papers on the treatment of various cancers.

- After graduating from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Ofer Merimsky completed his professional training in the US (New York) and France. He specialized in the treatment of sarcomas and radiation therapy, including brachytherapy – a type of radiation therapy in which a radiation source is placed inside the body.
- Professor Merimsky is sought after by patients with various types of sarcomas. The cancer mainly develops in bone tissue. Its progression is particularly aggressive. The sarcoma grows very quickly and spreads mainly to the lungs.
- Thanks to the latest sarcoma treatments in Israel, doctors are able to preserve the diseased arm or leg in 90% of cases in which the sarcoma develops in the bones of the limb. Professor Merimsky takes a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to treating bone sarcomas with organ preservation.
