Biography
Professor Gidon BAHAR is one of Israel’s most experienced, highly qualified otorhinolaryngologists and a leading specialist in the conservative treatment and surgery of head and neck diseases, including cancer. He is a professor of medicine and head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Medical Center.
Gidon Bahar is an excellent diagnostician. He performs a full spectrum of diagnostic tests, including biopsy, otoscopy, laryngoscopy, rhinoscopy, as well as audiometry and electronystagmography, before deciding on the most effective treatment.
He has more than 25 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases of the thyroid and salivary glands, vocal cords, polyps and cysts of ENT organs, as well as surgery for benign and malignant tumors of the pharynx, larynx, vocal cords, sinuses, salivary glands, thyroid and parathyroid glands.
In his daily practice, Professor Bahar uses modern and innovative technologies and performs complex minimally invasive endoscopic surgeries. He also actively uses the Da Vinci robotic surgery system in his surgical procedures.
He was one of the first surgeons in Israel to introduce progressive cryoablation, laser surgery and ultrasonic scalpel methods into ENT practice.
In his clinical practice, he works closely with other highly specialized oral and maxillofacial surgeons.
Professor Gidon Bachar is a renowned researcher and developer of unique proprietary products. He regularly publishes his research results in leading professional journals. He has authored more than 60 scientific papers that have been highly praised by international colleagues.
