Biography
Dr. Alan Hazan is one of the pioneers of endoscopic sinus surgery in Israel. He is the leading specialist in the world who has applied endoscopic techniques to tear duct surgery. After an excellent medical education and an extensive practice in France, Dr. Hazan moved to Israel, where he contributed to the development of head and neck surgery, constantly introducing innovative techniques and his own developments.Â
In 1994, Dr. Hazan, in collaboration with the head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Saint Anne Hospital in Paris, France, developed new methods for endoscopic removal of pituitary tumors, endoscopic closure of brain holes and removal of skull base tumors. Dr. Hazan has developed a method for removing laryngeal tumors, allowing the patient to retain swallowing and speech functions. Thanks to his endoscopic method, surgeries are performed without complications, leaving only a small scar, less than 1.5 cm. As one of the first doctors in the world, Hazan was able to close holes in the eardrum with cartilage grafts, thus increasing the effectiveness of the operation and minimizing the risk of complications.Â
During his stay in France, in parallel with his ENT practice, Dr. Hazan learned the latest techniques in facial reconstructive surgery, which allowed him to prevent scarring and other imperfections caused by complex surgeries.
